Travis’ Law: Requires 911 call centers to refer calls involving mental health crises to mental health crisis teams, where available, instead of solely to law enforcement. The goal is to ensure an appropriate response is sent to mental health crises and prevent unnecessary criminalization by involving mental health professions who are specially trained to handle these situations.
