Central MN Housing Resource Guide:  Housing Resource Guide for individuals in Sherburne, Benton, Stearns and Wright Counties.

HUD Resource Locator-Affordable Housing:  Resources from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Housing Benefits 101:  Helps people who need affordable housing, and supports to maintain that housing, understand the range of housing options and support services available. HB101 can help you make choices about where you want to live. It can also help you figure out a long-term housing plan that works for you, and the steps to move toward your housing goals.

Coordinated Entry is a process developed to ensure that all people experiencing a housing crisis have fair and equal access and are quickly identified, assessed for, referred, and connected to housing and assistance based on their strengths and needs. Coordinated Entry is NOT a waiting list for housing resources or services. Clients will NOT know where they are placed within the Coordinated Entry system.

Emergency Assistance:  Emergency Assistance Programs offer short-term support for people who need financial assistance in a crisis situation such as a natural disaster, utility shut off, or eviction.

Housing Support (formerly known as Group Residential Housing). This program is a state-funded income supplement program that pays for room-and-board costs for low-income adults who have been placed in a licensed or registered setting with which a county human service agency has negotiated a monthly rate.  This program works to reduce and prevent people from living in institutions or becoming homeless.

Information for individuals wanting to apply: You must meet a combination of eligibility requirements set by the Supplemental Security Income program or General Assistance program to qualify for assistance.  There are also income and asset limits.  Generally, the programs serves:

  • People 65 or older

  • People younger than 65 who have a condition that limits their self-sufficiency.  For example, it may be physical or mental health disability, visual impairment or chemical dependency.
